Cuba-China Memorandum of Understanding

On March 26, 2019, a meeting was held in the protocol room of the Ministry of Energy and Mines, between the Office of Geological Research - Chinese Geological Service and the Institute of Geology and Paleontology - Geological Service of Cuba, for the signing of a Memorandum of cooperation between both institutions.

The act was chaired by the Cuban side by the Deputy Minister of MINEM Yuri Viamontes Lazo, in addition the Director of Geology of the MINEM Enrique Castellaños Avella, Ciara Chile O'Reilly and Adela Agramonte Borges International Relations specialists of the MINEM, by the Institute of Geology and Paleontology participated Luis Gómez Narbona General Director, Xiomara Cazañas Diaz Director of Prospection and Marilin Pita Paz Director of Human Resources, for the Chinese side the Excellency Mr. Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Chen Xi, the delegation of the Geological Service, attended the signing Chino was composed of Wang Yan, Vice President, Zhu Lixin, Director of the Department of Science, Technology and International Cooperation, Zhao Qi, Deputy Director General of the Oil and Gas Resource Center,Liu Yanming, General Director of the Geological Library of China, Shu Siqi Director of the International Cooperation Division, Department of Science, Technology and International Cooperation. In a climate of cooperation and friendship both geological services presented their work in their respective countries and the possible fields of future cooperation were analyzed, highlighting as a priority the preparation of the Geochemical Map of the Republic of Cuba.
